MRS. THELMA MILLER WAS THE WELL KNOWN LIFELONG LOCAL HISTORIAN FOR THE THREE BRIDGES AND FLEMINGTON, NJ AREA AS WELL AS THE MOST RECOGNIZED COLLECTOR OF CHARLES LINDBERGH MEMORABILIA AND ARTIFACTS. A PORTION OF HER EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF LINDBERGH SCRAPBOOKS (see picture of Thelma Miller with a NJ State Police Trooper going over her scrapbook collection) HAVE BEEN DONATED TO THE NEW JERSEY STATE POLICE MUSEUM IN TRENTON AND IS OFFICIALLY NAMED "The Thelma Miller Collection"

 Mrs. Miller was fascinated by Charles Lindbergh, and began collecting souvenirs and memorabilia in 1927 with the transatlantic flight of the Spirit of St. Louis. Her father was a Flemington police officer, and was Bruno Hauptmann’s guard for the duration of the famous trial.   He helped augment her collection at that time with actual trial artifacts, including crank letters written to trial principals and even some of the cardboard utensils used by Hauptmann.

Thelma's father was also able to provide her and her brother with trial passes, so Thelma was able to visit the Hauptmann trial several times in February 1935.  Even the local press at the time noted 18-year-old Thelma skipping school to attend the trial, as shown in the cartoon below:
